Engine 43 Extinguishes Vehicle Fire Southbound on I-476

At 10:13 hours your Plymouth Fire Company No. 1 (Montco 43) volunteers and career staff responded to mile marker 18.3 Southbound on I-476 the Blue Route for a reported vehicle on fire after an accident.

Engine and Chief 43 arrived to find the engine compartment of a small SUV well involved with extension into the passenger compartment. The Engine's crew deployed an 1¾" handline from the front bumper to quickly extinguish all visible fire. The incident was placed under control within 10 minutes with no injuries reported to civilians or first responders.

The scene was turned over to the PA State Police and station 43 was available back in quarters by 10:40 hours.
