| At 14:07 hours, Ladder 43 was dispatched on the first alarm mutual aid assignment for a reported dwelling fire on the 1400 block of Astor Street in neighboring Norristown Borough. First arriving Norristown Fire Department units found fire showing to the rear of a 2 story twin single family dwelling. Ladder 43 arrived and was assigned multiple fireground duties including ventilation of the roof.
Station 27 and other mutual aid companies brought the fire under control quickly with no reported injuries to the occupants of the home. 1 firefighter suffered a minor heat related injury and was transported to a local hospital for evaluation. They have since been released and are reported to be doing much better.
Another tremendous job and teamwork by all units on scene to bring this fire under control quickly on yet another hot and humid day!
