| At 00:47 hours this morning, the volunteers of the Plymouth Fire Company No. 1 (Montco 43) were dispatched to the 400 block of Ridge Pike in neighboring Whitemarsh Township to assist the Barren Hill Fire Company on a reported building fire.
Chief 29 arrived to find a 3-story apartment with smoke showing and the WTPD advising a heavy smoke condition inside 1 apartment.
Ladder 43 with a crew of 5 responded and assumed the 1st due truck company upon their arrival. Due to power lines, the operator positioned on the Alpha/Delta side of the building and flew the main to the roof and multiple ground ladders as the crew entered the fire building to begin primary searches and begin opening up for the engine company.
Crews located fire in an upstairs laundry room and quickly knocked down all visible fire, holding it to the room of origin. Command then scaled the incident back within the first 15 minutes. Ladder 43's crew remained on scene assisting with overhaul before being released just before 02:00 hours. |
