| Yesterday evening the Plymouth Fire Company No. 1 (Montco 43) volunteers were dispatched at 19:19 hours to the 200 block of Lee Drive for the report of a vehicle on fire. Mutliple calls were received reporting smoke from a vehicle to the rear of the building.
Chief 43 arrived within minutes and reported the engine compartment of a sedan we'll involved with exposure to the building. Due to the conditions and growing fire command requested the incident be upgraded to a building fire bringing in additional mutial aid resources.
Squad 43 with a crew of 4 arrived and the first due engine company and immediately placed the front bumper 1¾" handline in service to quickly knock down all visible fire while simultaneously securing a positive water supply to a nearby hydrant. Additional crews from Harmonville Fire Company and the Norristown Fire Department then assisted in opening up the exterior siding and checking interior apartments to confirm no further fire extension.
Command placed the incident under control within 20 minutes. Crews remained on scene to ventilate the building until released. All units were clear just after 20:00 hours. Many thanks as always to all of our regional mutual aid partners for their assistance! |
