| At 05:43 hours this morning the volunteers of the Plymouth Fire Company No. 1 (Montco 43) were originally dispatched to unit block of Carland Road, at the Sharp Corporation for a fire alarm activation.
Chief 43 went responding and was immediately updated by Montco dispatch that they were now receiving multiple callers reporting fire from the lobby area. The box was then filled out for the building fire.
Chief 43 arrived to find a 1 story large commercial office building with smoke from the lobby doors and fire showing from a corner lobby window. Command was established and the working fire dispatch requested.
Engine 27, just clearing an incident in their local was the first arriving engine and along with the crews of Squad 44 and Engine 55-1 stretched an 1¾" handline into the lobby to quickly knock down all visible fire. Ladder 43 arrived as the 1st due truck company and were placed in service for ventilation.
Command placed the fire under control by the first 10 minute mark with no further fire extension. Units remained on scene assisting with ventilation until cleared just before 07:00 hours. Many thanks to all of our regional mutual aid partners for their assistance! |
