| At 06:37 hours this morning, the Plymouth Fire Company No. 1 (Montco 43) volunteers were dispatched to the 600 block of E. Airy Street to assist the Norristown Fire Department on a reported building fire.
Station 27 units arrived to find a commercial garage and fire showing. Ladder ans Battalion Chief 43 responded with a crew of 4. Ladder 43 assumed the 2nd due truck company responsibilities upon their arrival.
The crew assisted in forcing entry into the building utilizing saws to open up overhead bay doors, checking the loft area and roof for fire extension and finally opening up ceilings to ensure extinguishment.
First arriving engine companies on the regional response placed multiple handlines in service to quickly knock down all visible fire. Command would place the fire under control within the first 30 minutes and Station 43 was clear and available after 08:00 hours.
