| At 22:52 hours last evening the volunteers of the Plymouth Fire Company No. 1 (Montco 43) were dispatched to the 100 block of W. 3rd Avenue to assist the Conshohocken Fire Department on a reported building fire.
Station 55 units originally dispatched to the area for a vehicle on fire to the rear of a property arrived to find a reported electric vehicle well involved and beginning to extend to an unattached garage. With that command upgraded the assignment.
Squirt and Car 43 with 8 made the response and upon arrival secured a second hydrant and laid 200 feet on supply line into the block in the event it may be needed. The crew then went into service opening up portions of the garage and securing power to the involved vehicle.
The crews from Engine 55-1 and Quint 55 established a water supply and placed two lines in service to quickly knock down all visible fire and minimize extension. Command placed the fire under control within 30 minutes and Station 43 was clear and available just before midnight. |
