At 12:35 hours this afternoon, the volunteers and career staff of the Plymouth Fire Company No. 1 (Montco 43) were dispatched along with the Harmonville Fire Company No.1 to the 3000 block of Jolly Road in the township for the report of a dwelling fire. Initial 911 calls indicated the roof of a residence on fire.

Harmonville Fire Company's Battalion Chief 44-1 arrived first to find a 1 ½ story split level single family dwelling with smoke showing from side alpha. He immediately requested the working fire dispatch and established the Jolly Road Command.

Squad 44 arrived as the first due engine company a dropped a 1000 feet of supply line from the nearest cross street into the scene. The crew then pulled an 1¾" handline into the fire building where they found heavy fire conditions in the attic space.

Squirt 43 made the response and assumed 2nd due engine company responsibilities reverse laying an additional 400 feet of supply line from the Sqaud's lay to the nearest hydrant. The crew then secures a positive water supply into the scene and the crew put into service assisting with extinguishment, opening the roof and overhaul. Ladder 43 also made the response and stood by.

Quick and aggressive actions by the first in engine company had the fire knocked down quickly. Command placed the fire under control just after the 30 minute mark with no reported injuries. The Plymouth Township Fire Marshal's Office was on location to handle the fire investigation. Station 43 was clear and available just after 14:30 hours.

A tremendous job to all crews who operated at today's scene. A huge thank you to all of our mutual aid companies for their assistance!
