t 09:14 hours, the volunteers and career staff of the Plymouth Fire Company No. 1 (Montco 43) along with the Harmonville Fire Company No.1 were dispatched to the Plymouth Metroplex at the Lowes Home Improvement store for the reported commercial building fire. Intial 911 callers reported fire coming from the stores trash compactor.

Chief 43 and Squirt 43 with a crew of 4 went responding shortly after the dispatch. Chief 43 arrived to find fire showing from the top of the trash compactor on the charlie side of the building with the unit still attached to the building. With this report the Metroplex command was established and the working fire dispatch was requested.

Squirt 43 arrived and laid 200 feet of 5 inch supply line into the scene and led off with the front bumper 1 ¾" line to knock down the fire. Mutual aid crews arrived shortly after and upon disconnecting the compactor from the building were able to fully extinguish all visible fire. Crews checked the interior of the store to find no fire extension or lingering smoke.

The fire was placed under control within 30 minutes with no injuries reported to civilians or first responders. Assisting station 43 on scene were HFC's Quint and Tower 44, Conshohocken Fire Company No. 2's Engine 55, Barren Hill Volunteer Fire Company's Rescue 29, Spring Mill Fire Company No.1's Ladder 45, Gladwyne Volunteer Fire Company's Engine 24 as the R.I.T and Plymouth Community Ambulance Association - Medic 308.
