At 15:29 hours Tuesday afternoon the Plymouth Fire Company No. 1 (Montco 43) was dispatched to the 1000 block of Conshohocken Road at the Conshohocken Recycling and Rail Transfer for a reported building fire. Initial reports indicated trash burning inside the building.

With a large column of smoke visible from the area and the Plymouth Township Police Department arriving and reporting visible fire the working fire dispatch was transmitted.

Battalion Chief 43 arrives and reported a large trash pile burning inside and on the outside of the recycling building and established the Conshohocken Road command. Squirt 43 arrived as the first due engine company and laid a supply line into the scene from the yard hydrant. Multiple handlines were initially deployed by the crew and persobell from Norristown Fire Department's Quint 27 to begin extinguishing the fire.

Harmonville Fire Company No.1's Tower 44 along with Conshohocken Fire Company No. 2's Quint 55 were then placed in service with their master streams to knock down all visible fire. Command placed the fire under control at 16:06 hours with no reported injuries. Also assisting on scene were Gladwyne Volunteer Fire Company 's Engine 24, Barren Hill Fire Company 's Engine 29 and Spring Mill Fire Company No.1 's Engine 45. All units were clear by 17:30 hours.
