Less than 24 hours after the Plymouth Fire Company No. 1 (Montco 43) and mutual aid companies battled a tractor trailer fire, your volunteers were back at it again on this hot and humid Saturday afternoon.

At 13:05 hours, station 43 was dispatched to the 100 block of Industrial Way at the Insurance Auto Auction for the report of a vehicle on fire inside the lot.

Plymouth Township Fire Marshal FM 44-3 while en route reported a large column of smoke visible emanating from the location over a mile away. He as well as Battalion 44-2 who was passing by arrived shortly after and confirmed several vehicles to be well involved to rear of the large lot.

Engine and Chief 43 while en route requested additional engines and manpower out of Harmonville Fire Company No.1. The Engine arrived, and laid 1200 feet of 5 inch supply line into the scene and immediately went in service with two 1¾" hoselines to start extinguishing the fire.

Station 44's Squad and Engine arrived with the Squad splitting Engine 43's lay acting as a relay Engine while Engine 44 picked up 43's hydrant. All manpower then began the tedious efforts of opening up all of the vehicles and knocking down the stubborn fire.

Conshohocken Fire Company No. 2 's Engine 55 would then be requested to assist with additional manpower. All crews worked tirelessly to extinguish all visible fire and command placed the fire under control just after the 1 hour mark.

Crews remained on scene for extensive overhaul of all vehicles. In total crews battled over 9 vehicles that were fully engulfed with further fire damage accrued to more than 5 more.

The scene was turned over to the Fire Marshal's Office for investigation and all units were clear and available at 15:58 hours with no reported injuries.
