Plymouth Fire Company No. 1 (Montco 43) crews remained busy throughout the day and evening Friday responding to 3 reported building fires, 2 of which were working fires.
At 20:50 hours, volunteers were dispatched to the 1300 block of Arch Street in Norristown Borough to assist the Norristown Fire Department on a reported dwelling fire.
Assistant Chief 27 arrived and reported fire showing from all windows on the 2nd floor Alpha side of a 2 story twin dwelling.
Ladder and Captain 43 with a crew of 4 responded and upon arrival assumed first due truck company responsibilities. The crew performed primary searches of the fire building and then opened up ceilings and walls to check for fire extension.
First in engine companies from station 27 initiated an aggressive interior fire attack to bring the fire under control quickly with minimal extension. Ladder 43 operated for just under 2 hours before being released by command.
