Yesterday afternoon at approximately 16:18 hours volunteers of the Plymouth Fire Company No. 1 (Montco 43) responded to the 300 block of East Marshall Street to assist the Norristown Fire Department on a reported building fire.

Assistant Chief 27 arrived and reported smoke showing from the rear of a 3 story EOR dwelling and a working fire in the kitchen area.

Ladder and Deputy Chief 43 with a crew of 4 arrived and assumed first due truck company responsibilities on side alpha. The crew proceeded to go in service with primary searches of the 2nd and 3rd floors of the fire building. During the course of their searches they located a resident on the upper floors and successfully assisted them out of the building.

First in engine companies placed an 1¾" line in service to quickly contain the fire with minimal extension in the room of origin. Command placed the fire under control within 20 minutes and station 43 units were clear just before 17:30 hours.
