At 14:56 hours this rainy afternoon the volunteers and career staff of the Plymouth Fire Company No. 1 (Montco 43) were dispatched to the 700 block of Khon Street in neighboring Norristown Borough to assist the Norristown Fire Department on a reported building fire.

NFD's Captain 27 arrived and reported smoke showing from the attached garage portion a 1 story commercial building and requested the working fire dispatch.

Ladder and Chief 43 with a crew of 4 made the response and upon arrival assumed first due truck company responsibilities on the alpha side of the building. The ladder's crew were then put in service alongside Lower Providence Fire Department's Tower 53 crew forcing entry through a bay door, ventilation of the garage and overhaul.

First in engine companies placed an 1¾" hoseline in service and quickly knocked down all visible fire in the garage with no further extension passed the garage area.

Ladder 43 remained on scene assisting with ventilation before being released by command at 16:40 hours.
