Last evening at 22:45 hours, your Plymouth Fire Company No. 1 (Montco 43) volunteers were dispatched to mile marker 16.0 S/B on I-476 for a reported vehicle on fire. Montco's 911 center then received calls that there were possible occupants inside the vehicle unable to get out. With that report the incident was upgraded to a vehicle rescue.

Chief 43 arrived and reported a 4-door sedan well involved in fire. A water can was quickly placed in service to knock back the flames and thankfully the vehicle was confirmed to be unoccupied.

Rescue 43 with a crew of 4 arrived and placed a handline off of George Clay's Squad 39 in service and quickly knocked down all visible fire. Engine 43 arrived with their crew assisting in final extinguishment and overhaul. Command placed the incident under control within 15 minutes with no reported injuries.

The scene was turned over to the PA State Police and 43 units were clear and available by 23:30.
