1 Extricated on the Lafayette Street Connector Wednesday Evening

On 4/13 at approximately 18:39 hours, the volunteers of the Plymouth Fire Company No. 1 (Montco 43) were dispatched to the area of the Lafayette Street connector and Conshohocken Road for the reported vehicle rescue.

Chief 43 arrived within 4 minutes of dispatch to find a multi vehicle collision and confirmed 1 occupant entrapped inside of a 4-door sedan. Rescue 43 arrived shortly after and were placed in service with stabilization and their HURST Jaws of Life hydraulic rescue tools to begin the extrication.

The crew of Rescue 43 quickly completed a side wall removal on the driver's side of the vehicle to free the trapped occupant who was placed into the care of medics from Plymouth Community Ambulance Association - Medic 308.

Engine and Squirt 43 made the response and assisted in the extrication as well as setting up a landing zone for JeffSTAT Critical Care Transport medical helicopter.

Command marked the rescue complete at 18:59 hours. The scene was turned over to the Plymouth Township Police Department for the crash investigation. Our thoughts and well wishes go out to all those involved for a full and speedy recovery! Station 43 was clear and available by 19:15 hours.
