At 02:58 hours, Plymouth Fire Company No. 1 (Montco 43) Ladder 43 was dispatched to the area of E. Airy Street and Walnut Street in Norristown Borough to assist the Norristown Fire Department on a reported dwelling fire. Multiple 911 calls were received reporting a home on fire at that location.

NFD's Captain 27 arrived to heavy fire showing from a 2 story MOR dwelling. Quint and Engine 27 proceeded in with an aggressive interior attack while the WFD was struck. Command would eventually strike a 2nd alarm bringing in additional area mutual aid companies.

Ladder 43 with a crew of 6 operated for just over 2 hours. The crew split throwing multiple ground ladders to the exterior of the A,C, and D sides of the dwelling while other members entered the fire building to perform primary and secondary searches and begin opening up for the engine companies. The remaining members then went to the roof to assist the Lower Providence Fire Department's Tower 53 with vertical ventilation.

Command placed the fire under control with no injuries reported to civilians or emergency responders. Station 43's crew were clear and available back in quarters just after 05:00 hours.
