At 19:19 hours, Plymouth Fire Company No. 1 (Montco 43)'s Ladder 43 was dispatched to the 500 block of Arch Street in Norristown Borough to again assist the Norristown Fire Department on the dwelling fire. Multiple 911 callers reported fire from the roof of the above location.

Assistant 27 arrived moments after dispatch and reported a 2 story twin single family dwelling with heavy smoke showing from the eaves of both dwellings. The working fire dispatch was requested bringing in further mutual aid from the surrounding area.

First in engine company crews from Quint and Engine 27 along with Upper Merion Township Fire & EMS's Engine 56 found heavy fire on the second floor and in the knee walls with extension into the ceiling/roof area.

Ladder 43 with a crew of 5 made the response and arrived as the first due truck company positioning on side alpha. The members threw multiple ground ladders and were sent to the roof by command to ventilate and open up for the interior hoseline crews. Ladder 43 along with the crew from Lower Providence Fire Department's Tower 53 made the roof and worked tirelessly for over an hour cutting and opening up the stubborn multiple layer roof to ensure of no further fire extension.

Amazing teamwork by the first in crews kept this fire in check as it was placed under control quickly with minimal extension into the delta exposure and no injuries reported to residents or first responders.

Ladder 43 was clear and available in quarters just after 21:00 hours.
