Ladder and Engine 43 Assist on the Working Dwelling Fire in Whitemarsh Township

On 1/11 at approximately 14:04 hours, Plymouth Fire Company No. 1 (Montco 43) 's Volunteers and career staff responded on the initial alarm with Ladder 43 to the unit block of Locust Way in Whitemarsh Township to assist the Spring Mill Fire Company No.1 on the reported dwelling fire.

Deputy Chief 45 arrived to a 2 story large single family dwelling and confirmed a working bedroom fire on the second floor. The working fire dispatch was struck bringing Engine 43 to the scene.

First in engine company, Squad 45 placed an 1¾" hoseline in service and quickly knocked down the room and contents fire. Ladder 43's operator threw the main to the roof while the crew was assigned the roof sector where they ventilated a skylight to assist the interior crews. Engine 43's crew staged in the manpower pool until being placed in service for overhaul. Battalion 43 arrived and was assigned the staging/manpower supervisor.

The incident was placed under control within 45 minutes with no further fire extension passed the room of origin and no reported injuries. Station 43 was released by command and was available just before 16:00 hours.
