Ladder 43 first due to Norristown Borough

At 21:32 hours, Plymouth Fire Company No. 1 (Montco 43)'s Ladder 43 was dispatched on the first alarm assignment to the 200 block of Elm Street in neighboring Norristown Borough to assist the Norristown Fire Department for the dwelling fire. Initial 911 calls reported fire in the kitchen area.

Captain 27 arrived on scene to a 3 story middle of the row dwelling with smoke showing from side alpha and fire venting from the charlie side rear.

Quint and Engine 27 along with Upper Merion Township Fire & EMS's Engine 56 arrived shortly after and stretched two 1 3/4" handlines into the fire building. Ladder 43 arrived as the first due truck company with command assigning their crew to conduct primary searches of the second and third floors. The ladder crew along with members of Engine 56 then opened up the third floor to check for any fire extension.

The first in engine companie's quick and aggressive interior attack held the fire to the rear kitchen and mudroom area with only minor extension to the floor above. The fire was placed under control within the first 40 minutes with all residents safely evacuated and no reported injuries to them or first responders.

Ladder 43 was clear and available in quarters just after 23:00 hours.
