Your Plymouth Fire Company No. 1 volunteers continued to stay busy for the month of August as station 43 was dispatched at 19:56 hours for the reported tractor trailer on fire at mile marker 16.0 Northbound on I-476 in the West Conshohocken section of the Blue Route. Montgomery County's 911 center reported receiving multiple calls for a large fire from the front end of a tractor trailer.

Chief 43 arrived first and confirmed the tractor portion of the vehicle to be well involved and beginning to extend towards the trailer. Engine 43 with a crew of 6 then responded immediately after. The Blue Route command was established and an engine from the Conshohocken Fire Company No. 2 was requested for additional manpower and water.

George Clay Fire Company's Squad 39 arrived first followed by Engine 43. Crews deployed two 1¾" hoselines off the Squad to knock down all visible fire while Engine 43's operator shuttled their tank water into 39's. The CFD's Engine 55 and Washington Fire Company No. 1's Squad 55 arrived and immediately shuttled their tank water into Squad 39 while their manpower assisted with opening up the tractor and ensuring extinguishment. Squirt 43 with a crew of 4 also responded and provided their manpower at the scene.

The fire was brought under control quickly with no further fire extension into the trailer. There were no reported injuries to civilians or first responders and Station 43 was clear and available just prior to 20:30 hours.
