Rescue 43 and Squad 44 Extricate 1 on Ridge Pike

At 15:38 hours, your Plymouth Fire Company No. 1 (Montco 43) volunteers along with the Harmonville Fire Company No.1 were dispatched to the 1200 block of E. Ridge Pike in front of the Enterprise Rental Car for a reported vehicle accident with entrapment. Battalion Chief 44-1 traveling in the area came upon a 2 vehicle head on collision and was confirming 1 patient entrapped.

Rescue 43 along with Deputy Chief 43 and Assistant Chief 43-1 made the response quickly after dispatch. Squad 44 arrived first with Rescue 43 and Rescue 44 arriving a minute behind them. Deputy 43 arrived and confirmed units would be going into service for the rescue and established the Ridge Pike Command. Battalion Chief 44-1 was then assigned the operations leader and placed the Squad and both Rescue's crews in service with hydraulic tools to extricate the patient.

Crews removed the vehicle's B pillar along with the rear passenger door while also flapping back the driver's side door to gain access to and remove the patient. Command placed the rescue complete at 15:58 hours and the patient was then transferred to the care of Plymouth Community Ambulance Association - Medic 308.

Engine 43 and Engine 44 made the response and assisted with traffic control along with Traffic 44. The Plymouth Township Police Department was on scene handling the accident investigation and all fire department units were clear and available from the scene by 16:20 hours
