Yesterday afternoon your Plymouth Fire Company No.1 (Montco 43) volunteers and career staff continued to stay busy as they were dispatched with Ladder 43 for the cover up assignment at the Lower Providence Fire Department Station 53A while their crews were actively engaged in fighting a 2 alarm fire in multiple townhouses on the 4000 block of Cardin Place.

Ladder and Chief 43 then made the response with a crew of 5. As the ladder was responding a large volume of smoke could already be seen from Ridge Pike and Alanwood Road coming from the Eagleville area. Shortly after responding, the incident's commanding officer Chief 53 requested a 3rd alarm struck out. With this order Ladder 43 was diverted from their cover up assignment and assigned on the 3rd alarm with multiple assisting agencies and ordered to report to the staging location at station 53A.

Ladder 43 arrived at staging with several other departments from both the eastern and western end of Montgomery County to await further orders. Lower Providence crews with the assistance of a heavy law enforcement presence continued to battle the fire from a defensive posture utilizing two tower ladders as well as several portable monitors.

Shortly after, Ladder 43 was ordered into the scene from staging along with Trappe's Engine 77 and Collegeville's Engine 34. Upon arrival Ladder 43's crew were assigned to the Charlie division rear of the properties to assist with removing fencing and ventilation of 2nd floor windows on the exposures houses. The ladder's crew would also be utilized to check for any further fire extension and opening up around the fire walls of an exposure property.

Command would release 43's crew just after 16:00 hours and Plymouth cleared the scene and were back in quarters by 14:30 hours. An outstanding job and amazing teamwork to Station 53 and all of the assisting agencies within the fire departments, EMS agencies and all of the law enforcement officers! Our continued thoughts and well wishes go out to all of the community members affected by this incident.
