At 00:55 hours, your Plymouth Fire Company No. 1 (Montco 43) volunteers were dispatched to the 100 block of Fayette Street at the Great American Pub restaurant and bar in neighboring Conshohocken Borough to assist the Conshohocken Fire Company No. 2 for the commercial building fire. Initial reports from 911 callers indicated a stack of cardboard was actively on fire in the rear of and up against the building.

Squirt 43 with a crew of 3 quickly made the response minutes after dispatch. Conshohocken Fire Department's Chief 55 arrived on scene and reported smoke showing from the Charlie side rear of the building. Quint 55 then arrived with Squirt 43 right behind them. The Quint positioned on the Bravo side of the building and quickly stretched an 1 3/4" handline to the rear while Squirt 43 arrived and positioned at the hydrant on 2nd Ave and Fayette. Units found several boxes actively on fire with possible extension into the building. With this, Chief 55 assumed the Fayette Street Command, requested the working fire dispatch and ordered Squirt 43 to lay a 5 inch supply line into the scene.

Squirt 43 laid over 200 feet of supply line into Quint 55. The squirt's crew then assisted units in the rear with extinguishment and overhaul. Fortunately crews found no fire extension to the interior of the building. Mutual aid companies arriving on scene then went in service with ventilation fans to clear any residual smoke from the first and second floors of the property.

Command quickly placed the fire under control with no reported injuries to first responders, employees or patrons of the establishment. The crew from Squirt 43 was released from the scene shortly after and were available in quarters just before 02:00 hours.

A tremendous job by all assisting agencies on scene: Spring Mill Fire Company No.1's Squad 45, Harmonville Fire Company No.1's Quint and Tower 44, Gladwyne Volunteer Fire Company's Ladder 24, Conshohocken Police Department, and Narberth Ambulance's Medic 313.
