| At 3:20 hours this morning, as Plymouth Fire Company No. 1 (Montco 43) personnel were just clearing a working dwelling fire in Whitemarsh Township, units were dispatched to the area of Cherry Street and W. Main Street to assist the Norristown Fire Department on a building fire. Ladder 43 immediately responded with a crew of 4. Station 27 units reported heavy smoke a few blocks out and arrived confirming a working fire in a 3 story building. Ladder 43 arrived as the 2nd due truck company. The crew went in service throwing ground ladders as the operator positioned the main aerial to the roof. Personnel then assisted with searches and opening up the top floors. Engine companies quickly knocked down all visible fire and the incident was placed under control within 30 minutes. Station 43's members were then released by command just after 4:00 hours and finished returning all equipment back in service as the sun began to rise. |
