At 12:29 hours Tuesday afternoon, the Plymouth Fire Company No. 1 (Montco 43) career staff and volunteers were dispatched to the intersection of Germantown Pike and Launfall Road to assist the Harmonville Fire Company on a vehicle accident with reported entrapment.

Companies arrived to a mutli-vehicle accident blocking the intersection with an additional vehicle involved that had moved into the parking lot of the Plymouth Meeting Mall complex. Hazards were secured in the intersection and crews then confirmed entrapment in a sedan with a door to go in the parking lot.

The crews from Engine 44, Engine 44-1 and Squad 43 quickly stabilized the vehicle and went in service with E-draulic tools to remove the driver's side door freeing the operator. Command marked the rescue complete within 10 minutes and companies were made available a short time after.
