At 20:34 hours Thursday evening, the Plymouth Fire Company No. 1 (Montco 43) volunteers were dispatched to the 700 block of Germantown Pike in neighboring Whitemarsh Township to assist the Barren Hill Fire Company on a reported dwelling fire.

WTPD along with Chief 29 arrived to confirm 3 story single family dwelling with fire showing from the Delt side.

Squirt 43 and Battalion Chief 43 responded and upon their arrival were put in service throwing ground ladders and opening up exterior siding with hooks and saws to expose hidden fire and check for further fire extension. The crew was then reassigned to the interior of the fire building to continue opening up and checking for extension. Unfortunately, during these operations, the crew did locate and remove a family pet from the building.

Multiple handlines were placed in service to knock down the fire with ladder companies conducting searches and ventilation. Command placed the fire under control just after the 1 hour mark. Station 43 remained on scene assisting as needed while crews battled extremely frigid temperatures until being released by 22:30 hours.
