| Last evening at 20:32 hours, the volunteers of the Plymouth Fire Company No. 1 (Montco 43) were dispatched to the 200 block of East 8th Avenue to assist the Conshohocken Fire Department on a reported dwelling fire. First arriving units reported smoke showing from the Charlie side of a 3 story twin single family dwelling. Command conducted a 360 and found fire from the rear extending into the exposure. Squirt 43 responded and arrived and laid 400 feet of supply line into the first arriving engine company from a block out. The crew then went into service pulling additional handlines into the exposure dwelling, securing utilities, checking for further fire extension and assisting with overhaul and lighting. Command placed the fire under control within the hour and companies remained on scene assisting as needed until being released. Station 43 was clear and available just after 22:00 hours. We never want these unfortunate incidents to happen but especially during the holiday season. The officers and members wish to extend our most sincere thoughts and well wishes to the families affected by this incident. We along with the community are here for you all however you may need! |
