At 11:47 hours your Plymouth Fire Company No. 1 (Montco 43) volunteers were dispatched to the 1200 block of Markley Street in neighboring Norristown Borough for a reported dwelling fire. Montgomery County's 911 center reported receiving multiple calls for smoke coming from the front door of the residence. Norristown Police would then arrive on scene and report smoke showing.

Norristown Fire Department's Captain 27 arrived to find a 3 story middle of the row with fire showing from the first floor charlie side. The box was filled out and the Markley Street command was established.

Ladder and Chief 43 responded with a crew of 6 personnel. The ladder arrived and assumed second due truck responsibilities. The ladder positioned in the alley on the delta side of the fire building behind Good Will Fire Company's Engine 32 as the crew reported to the charlie side of the fire building and were ordered to open up the interior and exterior of the first floor while the operator was able to navigate through a tree line and place the main to the roof.

The first in engine companies of Quint and Engine 27 and Upper Merion Township Fire & EMS's Engine 56 stretched multiple handlines into the fire building extinguishing the bulk of fire quickly. Lower Providence Fire Department's Tower 53 arrived as the first due truck company and performed primary searches and opened up for the engine crews.

All searches proved negative and the fire was placed under control quickly. Other mutual aid companies assisting on scene were Conshohocken Fire Company No. 2's Quint 55, and Norriton Fire Engine Company's Quint 61. There were no injuries reported to residents or first responders and Ladder 43 was clear and back in service just before 13:00 hours. Great work to all crews on scene!
