On 3/15/2021 at approximately 10:06 hours your Plymouth Fire Company No. 1 (Montco 43) volunteers were dispatched to the 1000 block of Swede Street in neighboring Norristown Borough for a dwelling fire. Montgomery County 911 reported receiving multiple calls for fire and smoke visible from a residence.

Ladder and Chief 43 made the response minutes after dispatch. Norristown Fire Department's Assistant 27 arrived to find a 3 story dwelling with fire showing from the second floor on side alpha and confirming entrapment of an occupant on the third floor above the fire.

Ladder 43 arrived as the first due truck company taking position on the alpha side of the building as the crews from Engine 27 and Engine 56 stretched multiple 1 3/4" handlines into the fire building. The ladder's crew split and was assigned primary searches and horizontal ventilation of the windows as the chauffeur placed the main to the roof. Primary searches proved negative on all 3 floors and the ladder's crew would go on to assist with opening up on the third floor and vertical ventilation on the charlie side roof.

The fire would be placed under control by command quickly with no reported injuries to first responders. One resident was assisted out of the fire building and transferred over to EMS and then air lifted to the hospital.

Ladder 43 was clear from the scene and back in quarters a little after 11:00 hours. A great job by all crews assisting on scene!
