At 14:35 hours this afternoon your Plymouth Fire Company No. 1 (Montco 43) volunteers were dispatched to the 600 block of Markley Street for the 2nd time today to assist the Norristown Fire Department on a reported building fire.

NFD units were originally dispatched for a fire alarm activation and upon arrival requested the incident be upgraded to a building fire as heavy smoke was visible from the bravo side of a large commercial building. Multiple handlines were deployed to the basement/garage level where crews encounter heavy fire conditions.

Ladder and Deputy Chief 43 responded with a crew of 6 and upon arrival assumed 1st due truck company responsibilities. The ladder positioned on side alpha where the operator threw the main to the roof. The crew then conducted primary searches of the fire buidling which proved negative. The crew then assisted with ventilation and overhaul.

Command placed the fire under control within the first hour and station 43 was available just before 18:00 hours.
