At 13:31 hours, just after clearing a building fire response Plymouth Fire Company No. 1 (Montco 43)'s Ladder 43 was requested to respond to the 900 block of East Hector Street in neighboring Whitemarsh Township to assist the Spring Mill Fire Company No.1 station 45 on a high angle rescue.

Chief and Ladder 45 were on scene with a contractor atop the roof of a commercial building suffering from a medical emergency. Chief and Ladder 43 made the response and upon arrival their crew was assigned to assist station 45 personnel on the roof. Ladder 43's crew assisted in stabilizing and packaging the patient and then went to work constructing a rope and rigging system in order to descend the patient to the ground. Crews worked for approximately 40 minutes and successfully rescued the patient from the roof top and transferred them over to awaiting EMS.

Ladder 43 was clear and available just after 14:30 hours. Great team work and a job well done by all personnel on scene!

Further mutual aid assisting on scene were Conshohocken Fire Company No. 2's Quint 55, Whitemarsh Community Ambulance Association's Medic 318, and Whitemarsh Township Police Department.
