At 10:32 hours this morning the volunteers of the Plymouth Fire Company No. 1 (Montco 43) were dispatched to the 700 block of Sandy Street to assist the Norristown Fire Department on a reported building fire. NFD units were already en route for a fire alarm activation when the assignment was upgraded due to the report of smoke in an apartment.

Assistant Chief 27 arrived and reported smoke showing from a 3rd floor balcony of a 3 story apartment building. Ladder 43 with a crew of 6 arrived and assumed first due truck company responsibilities. Command ordered the truck to position in the charlie side parking lot of the complex and the crew was placed in service conducting primary searches while the operator flew the main to the roof.

First in engine companies from station 27 encountered a working fire in a 3rd floor apartment and quickly extinguished the same. Command placed the fire under control with no reported injuries. Ladder 43's crew remained on scene assisting with ventilation before being released just after 11:30 hours.
