Engine 43 Battles a Vehicle Well Off Southbound I-476 Monday Afternoon

The volunteers of the Plymouth Fire Company No. 1 (Montco 43) have remained busy the past few days as they were dispatched at 16:52 hours this afternoon to MM 18.9 Southbound on I-476 for a reported vehicle on fire.

Chief 43 arrived to find a pickup truck on the right shoulder of the highway well involved in fire. Engine 43 with a crew of 3 made the response and upon arrival placed the 1¾" bumper line in service to quickly knock down all visible fire. Squirt 43 also made the response and upon arrival assisted with final extinguishment.

The fire was placed under control within 15 minutes with no reported injuries. The scene was then turned over to the PA State Police and Station 43 was available by 17:30 hours.
