On 12/12/2020 at 22:21 your Plymouth Fire Company No. 1 (Montco 43) volunteers were dispatched to the 200 block of West Brown Street in neighboring Norristown Borough for the reported house on fire. Initial reports indicated the caller reporting some type of fire in the basement.

Ladder 43 with a crew of 5 made the response minutes after dispatch. Norristown Fire Department's Quint and Engine 27 arrived to a 2 story twin single family dwelling with light smoke showing from the chimney. The first in engine's crew then proceeded to the basement level to find heavy smoke from the ceiling banking down to the floor. With this report, Assistant Chief 27 requested the working fire dispatch bringing in further mutual aid from the surrounding area. Fire would be found in the basement ceiling area with a heavy smoke condition on floors 1 and 2.

Ladder 43 arrived as the first due truck company and positioned on side A. The crew was tasked with a primary search of the fire building as the operator flew the main to the roof. Primary searches of all floors would prove negative and the ladder's crew then assisted with ventilation.

First in engine companies would make quick work holding the fire in the basement to its room of origin with no extension. The fire was placed under control by the incident's 30 minute mark and all residents safely evacuated. There were no injuries reported to first responders.

Units remained on scene for overhaul and ladder 43 was clear and back in quarters just before midnight.
